Nokia’s market share rises to 74%
According to ORG GFK estimates, during the last six months Nokia’s market share in terms of units sold has grown to 74% in March ‘05 from 61.5% in October ‘04. During the same period, Nokia has increased its market share to 55% from 33.7% in the colour segment too.

Countervailing duty removed on mobile parts
Finance minister P Chidambaram announced on Monday the removal of countervailing duty of 4% on import of components used for mobile phone manufacturing. The duty on phones was already reduced to zero in this years budget; and in this regard the anomaly of duty on parts is now removed.
