HSDPA versus EVDO

Category: 3G | No Comments | Posted on May 16, 2005

If you can talk about EVDO we can boast about HSDPA. This is what comes across from the Business Line story which says Indian GSM operators are now looking at deploying this latest technology.

Looking at!? We don’t even have decent 2.5G implementations and the operators are already looking at deploying HSDPA which can be called as 3.5G. Maybe, if we delay it some more we can bypass 2.5G, 3G, 3.5G and go straight to 4G.

To be fair, the article does say that availability of handset is a major issue apart from the fact that the Government is yet to come out clear with its 3G policy.
