M&A activity in Europe

Deutsche Telekom (T-Mobile) is expected to announce on Friday that it has agreed to buy Austrian mobile operator Telering for about $1.6billion.
Last week, France Telecom bought Spain’s third largest mobile operator Amena for $12 billion.
And Ireland’s Eircom acquired Meteor, a local mobile operator for $506 million.

    The acquisition will bolster T-Mobile’s base in Austria, making it the second-largest mobile company in the country of 8.2 million, and giving it nearly 3 million customers.
