Orange wants to enter India

Speaking at the India-EU Business Summit earlier this week, Sanjiv Ahuja CEO of French mobile giant Orange said the company would be very keen to provide 3G services in India.

Mr Ahuja said that, although India’s potential is huge, Orange has so far refrained from entering its mobile sector because of the government-imposed limits on foreign ownership and the lack of progress in allocating 3G spectrum to operators.

Orange reffered here is not to be confused with the Hutch India’s brand Orange. Worldwide ownership of the “Orange” brand is with France Telecom. Read this to find out more.
