[V] Mobile Singer

If you are a bathroom singer, here’s your chance to become famous by just singing in to the mobile phone there.

The hunt for Channel [V]’s Mobile Singer starts in early October. Budding singers will get the opportunity to practice & participate from the comfort of their homes, their cars, their offices, bathrooms or wherever they are! All they need to do is to dial 1905-425-7827 to register and sing a song as part of the initial audition phase.

TV channels are cashing on the telecom userbase by introducing shows centered around interactivity. Even in this case, the number to be dialled is a premium rate number. Five years ago Star TV’s KBC wasn’t lucky with the phone, since the telecom players at that time didn’t provide revenue-sharing premium services. But KBC2, Indian Idol and others have milked telecom revenue stream to the maximum.
