Telcos divided over SMS IUC
TRAI had sought comments from Telcos on imposing Interconnect Usage Charge on SMS.
All operators, except Bharti, have opposed the IUC regime. They have argued that the existng system is working well.

GSM representative body COAI declared that the nine GSM operators added 3.2 million subscribers in June, taking the total GSM customer base to 78.5 million.

Reliance bids for Sri Lankan GSM licence
Reliance Communications has bid for a mobile licence in Sri Lanka to become its fifth GSM mobile operator.
