Tata and ZTE ink 3G deal
Tata Indicom is entering into an agreement with ZTE, under which the Chinese telecom major would build a countrywide CDMA 2000 network for Tata Indicom in the next three years.

Defence ministry to free spectrum for 3G by year end

21 million 3G users in 2007
According to a report prepared by CII and Yankee Group, commercial launch of 3G will happen in 2007 and its user base would grow to 21 million by 2010.
